What is Source Tax Online? Source Tax Online is a web based application with real time access to customer reports, ledger information, tax incidents, document images, inquiry and amendment data.
Is there a charge for Source Tax Online? Source Tax Online is free!
Will other customers have access to my information? Absolutely not. Your account information is completely secure and can only be viewed by you and your Ceridian representative.
Is my account private and secure? A secure connection (often called SSL, or Secure Sockets Layer) is the industry standard for Web security. It is used primarily for transmitting sensitive information over the Internet. When you have a secure connection between your browser and a Web site, no one else can easily access the data that you send across the connection. When you log in, Source Tax Online uses 128 bit to encrypt your sign-in name, and password, to give you a high level of security.
For more information, see our Security Policy
If the information I see in Source Tax Online is incorrect, how do I get this information updated? Forward the correct information to your Tax Service Representative.
Who Should I contact, if I forget my login ID and/or password? Contact your STO Customer Administrator at your company or your Tax Service Representative to reset your password.
How do I change my password? If you are a regular user, click on Home in the navigation bar. Click on Web User Profile Maintenance. Click on Change Password.
If you are the Customer Source Tax Online Administrator at your company, click on Home in the navigation bar. Click on Web User Profile Maintenance. Type the Users Login ID or Name and click on the Find button. Click on Change Password
What does it mean when my account is marked “inactive”? Accounts are inactivated after three (3) unsuccessful login attempts. Contact your Source Tax Online Administrator at your company or your Tax Service Representative to re-activate your account.
What does it mean when I receive the following message: "This page contains both secure and non-secure items." Do you want to display the non-secure items? If a secure Web page uses frames and one or more of the frames does not load, either because you cancel the load or because the load request does not work, Internet Explorer generates the preceding error message.
This issue occurs because Internet Explorer determines that the successfully loaded frames are in the Internet domain and the internally generated error frames are on the local computer, and therefore sets the current zone to mixed. This triggers a security error message that alerts you that the page contains secure and non-secure items.
In this case, the error message does not indicate a security problem; the error message merely indicates that the page has not fully loaded all of the secure content.
Can I use Source Tax Online to view reports detailing my tax return information? Yes, just click on the Customer Report link. From there, specify the tax type and time period and Click on Search to display your data. The Summary of Deposits and Filings reports display the same data found in your quarterly Tax Statement.
Why doesn’t the 941, Schedule B match the “new” Tax Deposit Summary? The “New” Tax Deposit Summary reflects both positive and negative tax liability dates and amounts as well as deposit dates and amounts made throughout the quarter.
Why have the tax returns been replaced with the “new” Summary of Deposit and Filings? This new format features more of the data you need to manage your payroll tax liabilities. It includes all the data filed with tax agencies, as well as a Tax Deposit Summary section, which lists liability and deposit amounts with corresponding dates. In the event of an audit a copy of the actual return may be requested by your Tax Service Representative.
How can I check to make sure you have received my tax liability information? Click on the Tax Liabilities link, enter a search date range in the Search Box, and then click Find. A list of payroll entries that match the date range will be displayed. The Payroll Tax Liability Information screen gives you information such as Liability Date, Date Payroll Received, and Amount. You may also review the Payroll Tax Liability Detail Information screen for tax code detail and summary information.
I have an Alert on my account. What is it and what do I do? Alerts Summary Information lists current issues that may require extra attention. Clicking on any of the underlined alerts will provide additional detail on that alert. Some types of Alerts are Applied-for ID numbers, Open Tax Incidents, and tax code fallouts. Contact your Tax Service representative for exact information on how to resolve your particular issue. For more details on Alerts, please refer to the User Guide.
Where do I go to get information on payroll tax deadlines or links to government agencies? Click on Resources and Links in the lower portion of the menu bar. In that page you will find payroll tax information and deadline links, state / local web links, and federal web links. A good example is a link that will take you to a web site that gives information on Pennsylvania local jurisdiction taxes. Using Source Tax Online to access this link, Pennsylvania employers can find information that includes details such as tax rates and municipality codes, and search the database for listings of local jurisdictions in their area.
